TapCue how-to

How to use TapCue

TapCue saves links from any Android app into your notes, to-do list or inbox. Set it up once, then two taps save anything. Here is every step.

  1. Install TapCue and sign in

    1. Install TapCue from Google Play.
    2. Open TapCue and type your email address.
    3. Tap the link TapCue emails you, or type the 6-digit code from the email. There is no password.
  2. Choose where your saves go

    1. When TapCue asks where your saves should go, pick one: your Obsidian vault or a folder, email, Notion, Todoist or another destination.
    2. Follow the short setup on that screen.
    3. Tap Send a test save to check it works.

You can change this any time in the Destinations tab.

  3. Save a link from any app

    1. In any app, tap Share.
    2. Tap TapCue in the share menu. Press and hold it and choose Pin if you want it at the front.
    3. That's it. TapCue picks the reason from the site, so a YouTube link goes to Watch later.

Changed your mind? Tap Undo on the card before it goes away.

  4. Pick the reason yourself

    1. In any app, tap Share.
    2. Tap TapCue: choose in the share menu.
    3. Tap why you're saving it, such as Cook this or Buy this.

The free plan has Watch later and Read later. Pro adds the other reasons, and you can make your own.

  5. Find it in your notes

    1. Open the note, folder, database or inbox you chose.
    2. Your save is there as one clear line, like "Knife sharpening video to watch later", with the link.

No signal? TapCue keeps the save on your phone and sends it when you're back online.

  6. Mark a save as finished

    1. Open the Saves tab in TapCue.
    2. Swipe a save to the right to mark it watched, read or bought.
    3. Use Waiting, Finished and All to switch lists, or the search box to find any save.
  7. Save from your computer

    1. Add the TapCue extension from the Chrome Web Store and sign in.
    2. On any page, click the TapCue button in the toolbar and choose why you're saving it.
    3. Or right-click a page, link or selected text and choose Save to TapCue, or press Alt+Shift+S to save the page at once.

Saves wait and go out when you're back online, and the extension can also open your full TapCue page.

  8. Send each site to the right reason

    1. Open Categories in TapCue to turn reasons on or off and choose where each one goes.
    2. With Pro, add your own reasons and rules per site, so your team's wiki always goes to Work.
    3. With Pro, write your own note template in Markdown, JSON, XML or YAML. TapCue checks it as you type.

Guides: save links as JSON, XML or YAML files and share a link to a webhook.

  9. Connect your AI assistant

    1. Sign in at tapcue.app with Pro and create an API key under Account.
    2. Add TapCue's MCP connector to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another assistant, using the setup steps.
    3. Ask it something, like "What did I save for you this week?" or "Read the article I saved and summarise it."
  10. Bring your old links with you

    1. Sign in at tapcue.app and open Account, then Import saves.
    2. Choose Pocket, Raindrop or browser bookmarks, and pick your export file.
    3. Your links come in as saves you can search.
