TapCue saves links and notes you share to it and delivers them to the places you choose. This page explains what that involves. The short version: we keep only what we need to deliver your saves, we delete it soon after unless you are on Pro and choose to keep a history, and we never sell it or use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in and to send sign-in links.
- What you save: the link or text you share, an optional note, and the category you pick.
- The card we make from it: a short description, the title, author, length and similar public details of the linked page or video.
- Your destinations: the places you connect, such as a GitHub repository, a Notion page or an email address, and the access tokens you give us for them. Tokens are encrypted and are never shown back in full.
- A random device identifier, so a save meant for one phone is written by that phone.
- Anonymous usage counts: how often each feature is used (for example "a save was made with a note" or "an AI assistant listed saves"), with the app, app version and plan. These counts are not linked to you or your account and never include your links, titles, notes or searches. We use them to decide what to improve.
- A sign-in cookie when you use tapcue.app in a browser. It only keeps you signed in; it is not used for tracking.
- With the TapCue browser extension (Chrome, Safari): the address and title of the page, link or text you save, only at the moment you click to save it. The extension keeps its sign-in, your categories and any saves waiting to send in the browser's own extension storage. It does not read pages you don't save and does not send us your browsing history.
We do not collect your contacts, location, advertising identifiers or browsing history, and TapCue has no ads or third-party trackers.
How we use it
- To fetch public information about the links you save and write a one-line description of each.
- To deliver each save to the destination you chose.
- To show you your recent saves and whether they were delivered, in the app and at tapcue.app.
Services that process your data for us
- Cloudflare runs TapCue's servers and database, and the AI model that writes each description.
- Resend sends our emails.
- YouTube API Services provide details about YouTube videos you save. By saving YouTube links you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of that request is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- The services you connect as destinations, such as GitHub, Notion, Todoist or Raindrop, receive the saves you send them under their own privacy policies.
Items saved to Obsidian folders, Files, Apple Reminders or Apple Notes are written by your own device.
How long we keep it
- Free plan: saves are deleted from TapCue 30 days after they are delivered.
- Pro plan: TapCue keeps each delivered save (its title, link, category, destination, dates, the text you shared and your note) until you delete it or turn off "Keep history". After 30 days we remove only the copy written for delivery, which TapCue can write again if you resend the save. If you turn off "Keep history" or leave Pro, the free rule applies from the next night.
- On every plan, saves that never reach their destination are deleted after 90 days.
- Sign-in requests are deleted after two days.
- Your account, categories and destinations stay until you delete them.
- Backups: we keep copies of the database so we can recover from an outage. Every copy is deleted within 30 days, so anything you delete, including your whole account, is gone from all of them within 30 days. If we ever restore a copy, we first delete again any account you deleted, and sign out every device, before it goes back into use.
Your choices
- Delete any single save, your whole history, any destination, or your whole account, in the TapCue app or at tapcue.app. Deleting your account removes everything we hold about you. Notes already written to your own apps stay there.
- Export everything we hold about you as a file from the app or at tapcue.app, at any time.
- Write to support@tapcue.app with any privacy question.
Children
TapCue is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
