TapCue

Pocket alternative

A Pocket alternative that keeps your links in your own notes

Mozilla shut Pocket down in July 2025. TapCue replaces the saving part: share a link from any app, tap why you're saving it, and it lands in Obsidian, Notion, email or your to-do list, where it stays yours.

What's different from Pocket

Pocket kept everything in one list inside Pocket. When it closed, that list closed with it. TapCue doesn't hold your library: it writes each save into the notes app or service you already use, so nothing is lost if an app goes away.

  • Saves go where you work. Obsidian, Notion, email, Todoist, Raindrop.io, GitHub or a webhook.
  • Every save says why. Watch later, Read later, Cook this, Buy this, For AI or your own reasons, each with its own destination.
  • Written to be found. Each save becomes one readable line, like "Kitchen knife sharpening video to watch later", with the link.
  • One tap for sites you use. YouTube goes straight to Watch later, Amazon to Buy this.
  • Your AI assistant can read it. Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP apps can summarise what you saved and mark it done.

What TapCue doesn't do

TapCue is not a reading app. There's no reader view, no offline article text and no highlights. If you want to read inside a dedicated app, a reader such as Instapaper or Readwise Reader is built for that. TapCue is for people whose notes app is the library and who want saving to take one tap.

Bring your Pocket saves

  1. Find the CSV file from your Pocket export. Pocket's export closed in October 2025, so this only works if you downloaded it before then.
  2. Sign in at tapcue.app, open Account, then Import saves, and choose Pocket.
  3. Pick the file. Your links come in as saves you can search and filter. Raindrop exports and browser bookmark files work the same way.

Get started

Install TapCue on Android, sign in with your email, and pick where each reason should go. The free plan covers Watch later and Read later with one destination.
